in assessing the language, we recognize three basic terms that often appears mostly in this discussion. They are evaluation, assessment, and test. At first sight, they may look similar. however, after studying about language assessment, these three terms definitely have their own scope and explanation. here is a brief opinion about the different definition of evaluation, assessment, and test.

Evaluation
means a procedure used to determine if the subject,
for example the student, meets the preset criteria or not, such as qualifying for special education services.

Assessment
refers to the process of gathering information to monitor the progress and make
educational decisions if necessary. Assessment may include test, observations,
interviews, behavior monitoring, and so on. It emphasizes more on the process
while evaluation emphasizes on the product.

Test
Test
is defined as a method used to determine student’s ability to complete certain
tasks or demonstrate mastery of a skill or knowledge of content. Several
types of test are like multiple choice tests, weekly spelling test. Test is one
form of assessment.
Those are what i have got from my class, hopefull it can clarify some misunderstanding about Assessment, Evaluation and Test in language.
